The wireless system explained
The bullet points below provide a basic insight into how our wireless nurse call systems work in an emergency;
- Radio beacons are placed at main doors and in hallways
- The patient or resident’s activator logs their location when they pass within 5 feet of a beacon
- In an emergency the patient or resident presses the button on their activator which saves time in trying to locate them
- Each beacon has its own unique location code which in an emergency is transmitted to the nurse call receiver and displayed to staff
- These location codes can also be transmitted to pocket pagers to alert staff when they’re mobile
- Each incidence of an alarm can also be monitored by computer using specialist software to allow staff to monitor the healthcare facility efficiently and with the safety of patients and residents in mind.
